The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Yuliia Dzhima ( uk, Юлія Валентинівна Джима; born 19 September 1990) is a Ukrainian World Cup level biathlete. She is Olympic champion in women's relay, multiple World championships medalist. She is one of the most successful Ukrainian biathletes of 2010's. Career She took up biathlon in Kyiv, where she lives. At the beginning of her sporting career she wasn't seen as a promising rising athlete. She didn't show good results in skiing so trainers were doubtful whether she would be a good biathlete. Nathan Smith (born 25 December 1985) is a Canadian biathlete. Career Smith competed for Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics. At the 2015 Biathlon World Championships in Kontiolahti, Finland in the 10 km Sprint event Nathan won Silver. He was the first Canadian male biathlete to medal at a World Championship. Serhiy Oleksandrovych Semenov ( uk, Сергій Олександрович Семенов; born 28 July 1988 in Chernihiv, Ukrainian SSR) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He is first Ukrainian male biathlete to win a World Cup title in a single discipline, having become World Cup champion in the individual in the 2014–15 season. Dmytro Pidruchnyi
Dmytro Pidruchnyi ( uk, Дмитро Підручний; born 5 November 1991) is a Ukrainian biathlete. He participated at 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In March 2022, Pidruchnyi joined the Ukrainian National Guard to fight during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Career Pidruchnyi was born in village Ostriv near Ternopil. Dmytro's first international competition was 2010 Junior World Championships in Swedish Torsby. He didn't have much success then. He also wasn't very successful next season. But at 2012 Junior Worlds in Kontiolahti he finally showed good results which allowed him to start in IBU Cup and debut in World Cup. Ondřej Moravec (; born 9 June 1984) is a former Czech biathlete. Life and career Moravec represented the Czech Republic at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. Gabriela Soukalová, formerly Koukalová () (born 1 November 1989 in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czechoslovakia) is a former Czech biathlete and television presenter for TV Prima. She won three Olympic medals at the 2014 Sochi Games and she is a two-time World Championship winner, gold medalist at the 2015 Kontiolahti in mixed relay and gold medalist at 2017 Hochfilzen in 7.5 km sprint. Tarjei Bø (born 29 July 1988) is a Norwegian professional biathlete. Awarded Olympic gold medals, World Championship gold medals and World Cup victories from 2010 to 2022. Bø debuted in the Biathlon World Cup on 26 March 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. In the 2010 Winter Olympics he earned his first gold medal in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay. Johannes Thingnes Bø
Johannes Thingnes Bø (born 16 May 1993) is a Norwegian biathlete. He is the younger brother of biathlete Tarjei Bø. At the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022, they became the first siblings to have individual medals in the same biathlon event. Thingnes Bø has won the Biathlon World Cup in 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2022/2023.
